As an editor, I function as something of a "communications" expert; I'm here to help you get your point across in the best way possible, whether that's through editing your manuscript, coaching you towards uncovering your own writing potential, or crafting some well-targeted copy to attract your customers. 

My philosophy is that everyone could use a hand when it comes to polishing their writing. Even the most accomplished writers need someone in their corner who can ensure that their work reflects the very best of what they have to offer.

How I Got My Start

In college, I got so tired of finding typos in my campus newspaper that I became one of their copy editors. As graduation neared, I realized that my penchant for proper word usage could be turned into a career—and after attending the acclaimed Publishing Institute at University of Denver in 2008, I knew that that I'd found my calling.  

After a stint as an intern for a business magazine in Santa Monica, I became a proofreader for a medium-sized publisher in 2012, and in 2015, I added freelance editing to my professional career. Since then, I've counted several successful publishing companies among my clients, including Sounds True, New Harbinger, Gibbs & Smith, and the Colorado Mountain Club, as well as a wide variety of independent authors.

Writing and coaching became natural addendums to my resume—I'd spent so much time analyzing marketing copy as a proofreader that I was bound to pick up some tips and tricks. My current learning edge is adding as much SEO experience to my repertoire as possible, so I can better help my clients to place their work where it will be seen and draw in their target markets.
